My first Cubs game was in August 2007, when I came to Chicago for the first time. John and I sat in the bleachers and ended up running into some of his friends. The bleachers are notorious for being young and rowdy!! We had a fun day, drinking $7 beers and eating "chicago dogs". Well Johnny had a chicago dog, I ordered mine with just ketchup. (apparently that is offensive...hahahah) Since then, I have been back to Wrigley twice!! We went with my Mom and Pat to the Cubs game this year on a cold rainy day (at the end of May). The game ended up being delayed for 3 hours but we stuck it out and ended up seeing an awesome game, not to mention a Cubs Win!!! John told us that we earned our "Cubs Stripes" that day!!
What I love the most about Wrigley Field is it's rich history. The Cubs have been playing there since 1916. Watching a game at Wrigley Field is the one place that you can go to and watch a baseball game at it's purest form. The ivy along the outfield wall is so gorgeous and the manual scoreboard has been there since 1937. And of course you can't go to a Cubs game without signing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the 7th inning stretch.
